the coach approach

What is a coach?

a coach is not a  fixer but a facilitator.

As a certified Neurolanguage Coach®, I bring to our sessions a new and highly effective method to language learning.

Before we understand what Neurolanguage Coaching® is, let's understand the coach approach.

According to psychologist Daniel Goleman, Ph.D., author of the New York Times bestseller, Emotional Intelligence, expertise in a professional field is no longer sufficient to guarantee success in your career.

What makes the difference career wise is the possession of those all important soft skills. And this is where a coach comes in.

So what exactly does a coach do?

Perhaps the key skill is the ability to ask good questions in order to get you, the coachee, to work out what your own goals are and dedicate yourself  to achieving them. This will mean prioritising those goals and clarifying what action needs to be taken.

It goes without saying that empathising with your concerns, building a good relationship with you and really listening to what you have to say will be paramount for the coach.

A coach doesn't fix but facilitates. The coach doesn't influence but helps pave the way to a better understanding of your current situation and your future goals in an efficient and effective way. The coach is a vehicle for your progress and as author Kevin Hall, advocates, in his book Aspire - The Power of Words, …" a coach is someone who carries a valued person from where they are to where they want to be."
